Greetings from Biloxi

Stefan and I are in Biloxi and we are having a great time. We arrived last night around 8 p.m. CT and settled in quite nicely. We're staying at the Isle of Capri Hotel and Casino and it's quite nice. From our room we have a view of the river which we didn't even notice until this morning because it was so dark when we arrived. Last night we went down to the casino. Our first stop was at the Isle Club desk where we signed up for player's cards. These are cards that keep track of your play time and qualify you for comps in the long run. We then tried our hand at the slots. Stefan quickly lost $45 on a quarter machine while I seemed to be on quite a little lucky streak. Feeling sorry for him, I suggested we move to another area. We found some dime slots in an alcove with a bar. Talk about location, location, location! We played (and drank) until about 11:30 and my luck continued while Stefan's turned around a bit. By the end of the night, I was up $100. This was the first time I ever left the casino ahead!!!

This morning we had bagels and muffins delivered to the room at a low, low price. I believe this is the first time I have ever had room service. It's something I could become accustomed to. We headed down to the casino, and I quickly lost $40 on quarter slots. (I should really stay away from those!) We migrated back to the dime machines and I played the same $20 for three hours. Around 1, we went to the Isle Club desk to inquire about any comps we may have earned and we both qualified for a free lunch buffet. Jackpot!!!! After we stuffed our tummies we went back to the dreaded quarter slots where I dropped another $40 rather quickly. Darnit!

As I write this, Stefan is playing in a Texas Hold 'Em tournament. If you recall, he played in a charity tournament a while back and won. Hopefully, it wasn't just beginner's luck, but while find out soon enough I suppose. While he is doing that, I am using the time to finish reading a book for school and catch up on some homework. All for the best I suppose since I can see slot reels when I close my eyes! Anyway, I just looked at my overall money and although I paid for dinner and cocktail waitress tips last night and after all the losses I sustained today, I am only down $3 which is a small price to pay for the hours of entertainment so far! Hopefully, my luck will turn around and I can get back on the positive. I'll keep you posted on Stefan's 2nd tournament status as I learn the details myself.
